Arogya Mitra

“AROGYA MITRA” project is aims to reach the remotest villages where there is no doctor, for providing primary health care and awareness to the rural and downtrodden people who have no access to modern medical facilities and cannot afford to soaring medical expenses. “Arogya Mitra” Project is one of most the successful projects of Seva Bharati, Purbanchal. The Programme focuses on aware the society in building a service culture with a nationalistic
mindset to provide minimum one hour for free primary health care facilities to the people of his own Village.

MAN POWER MAMANGEMENT HEIRARCHY OF AROGYA MITRA PROJECT

 

A. AROGYA MITRA PRIMARY TRAINING CAMP:

Arogya Mitra Training Camps are organized to train the selected local people of remote areas
to transform into a health worker. They are imparted trainings locality wise throughout the
year bringing them in a nearest place for a 7 days residential camp. Trainings are given on the
health related topics such as Anatomy, primary medicine, disease preventive measures,
sanitation, hygiene, first aid and basic yoga. This year three camps organized in three places,
where 58 Arogya Mitras took the training.

B. AROGYA MITRA PRAGATI VARG:

Arogya Mitra Pragati Varg is an advance training course for experience Arogya mitras who
have a minimum experience of consulting 500 patients. Pragati Varg usually held in duration
of two years. This year, This financial year Pragati Varg not held as per schedule.

C. FREE MEDICAL CAMPS:

Free medical camps are organized by Arogya Mitras in various remote villages with the help
of several doctors, medical college students and Seva Bharati Purbanchal associated local
persons and volunteers. Through these camps, health check-up is done and free medicines are
provided to the economically weaker and downtrodden sections of the Society. In this year,
1767 patients have benefited from 23 Free Medical Camps of 11 different districts of Assam.

D. HEALTH AWARENESS AND SANITATION PROGRAMME:

The awareness programme organized by Arogya Mitras in different villages to discuss health
related matters for maintaining good health in the society in general. In such a Health Awareness and sanitation programme, the Arogya Mitras discuss and interact with the
different sections of villagers together with invited health related resource persons. The
awareness programme also includes sanitation and cleanness topics for discussion especially
on preventive measures for a healthy environment. A total of 12 nos of health awareness
camps organized.

E. GRAM PANCHAYAT (GP) MONTHLY MEETINGS:

Monthly meetings are organised at GP level by the Arogya Mitras where units are forward to
organise such meetings in the villages. A Unit is a group of Arogya Mitras consisting of 12 to
15 nos. of health workers both girls and boys of some villages. In the Unit level meetings,
Arogya Mitras discuss on the status of the work done by them along with various related
issues for strengthening their unit for better service. In this year, 66 meeting has been
conduted covering 20 Districts

F. DISTRICT WISE GP SAMPARK PRAMUKH MEETINGS HELD:

District wise meetings are held among the Sampark Pramukhs (Sampark Pramukh is a head
of a GP) in the respective district. Sampark Pramukhs meeting is organised monthly or bimonthly
in most of the districts. 8 nos of District level meeting organised covering 7 districts.

G. AROGYAM:

Arogyam is a health education and character building programme among the children of an
age group from 4 to14 years. It is a one hour programme for one or two days in a week. The
Arogyam is conducted by women Arogya Mitras specially trained for the purpose and held in
a specific place through playing, singing, and storytelling. Now 10 centres are running by 10
Centre Pramukhs in the interior of Assam in addition to her A.M. Work.

H. KISHORI VIKAS:

It is a monthly one day programme for teenage girls of a village organised by Female Arogya
Mitras to discuss various topics of teenage girls relating to maintenance of their character,
security, women education and other problems relating to their age group. Presently 4 nos of
Kishori vikas Kendra running at 4 places.

I. MATRI MANDALI:

Matri Mandali programmes organise to strengthen the adult women class of the society. It is a
monthly one day programme for Married women organised by female Arogya Mitras to discuss the problems relating to them especially, child rearing, child birth, socio-economic
development, sanitation, Social awareness etc.
