Corona virus is become a biological threat to the human,which was spreading from China. World Health Organisation (WHO) has also declared it as a pandemic after more than 200,000 confirmed cases and over 8,900 deaths in 114 countries. A novel corona virus (nCoV) is a kind of virus which can cause disease in human’s even leads to death. With the prime objective of Health development and Disaster management, Seva Bharati Purbnachal come forward with the possible activities to aware people about the present situation not to become panic. Seva Bharati, Purbanchal with its dedication initiated a series of awareness programme since February month, 2020 to sensitize and aware people to adopt preventive measures not to spread of Corona Virus(COVID-19). The programmes were organised in different districts of Assam. A total of 236 programmeswas organized covering 23 districts of Assam. The programmes were held covered355 villages with participants including both female and male.
In the programmes, various resource persons, experts, worker delivered many informations regarding precautionary measures about the Novel Corona Virus. They talk about the common symptoms of corona virus affected people as such as fever, tiredness, and dry cough. They advised to Practice frequent hand washing with soap and water or use alcohol based hand rub. Washing hands even if they are visibly clean, covering nose and mouth with handkerchief/tissue while sneezing and coughing. Wearing of mask/cloth to cover mouth and nose. Maintaining of social distancing to prevent spread of the virus.
The programmes were conducted by Seva Bharati, Purbanchal’s Dr. Arun Kumar Banerjee, (Project Director), Sri Ramen Sarma (President), Sri Rajiv Gupta(Secretary), Sri Surendra Talkhedkar(North East Organizing Secretary),Sri Bipul Deka(Assam Organizing Secretary), Dr. Donirung Reang(Chief Medical officer, Yoga and Naturopathy Institute) and Dr. Dipankar Debnath of Seva Bharati Purbanchal along with other members and volunteers.
